Abstract

Schwannian-derived specialized mechanosensors found in glabrous skin and some mucosal sites. TCLBs are not a normal component of gastrointestinal mucosa but they have been reported in the esophagus, stomach, gastroesophageal junction, and colorectum. Twenty-two cases of tactile corpuscle-like bodies (TCLBs) have been reported to date in the English literature. We herein present five additional cases of TCLBs, all within the colorectum rimary pancreatic hepatoid carcinoma (PHC) is very rare. Here, we reported 3 such cases with review of additional 31 cases in the literature. Our 3 patients were male (83, 72, and 54 years old, respectively). Serum α-fetoprotein (AFP) was elevated in 1 patient (case 3, 8338 ng/mL) and not measured in the other two. The PHC in patient 1 (pathological stage pT2N0M0) and patient 2 (pT3N0M0) showed pure hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC)-like morphology, whereas in case 3 it was a PHC with true glandular differentiation (pT4N0M0) Using paraffin-embedded tissues of 31 epithelioid MPMs, we investigated the presence of gene abnormalities in the genes 9p211p3614q3222q125p156p8q24, and 7p12 by the FISH method, and compared the results with NG, clinical stage, and prognosis. Results. In the higher NG group of epithelioid MPM, more gene amplifications [in particular 5p15 and 8q24 (MYC)] were observed, and clinical stage was more advanced.
