Effect of the Surface Erosive and Mechanical Tooth Wear in Viking Age Icelanders

Abstract

The epidemiology of the dental disease in sickle cell anemia is not adequately described. The aim of this work is either the evaluation of literature on the topic, or to describe if the disease itself predisposes to a dental pathology who had difficulties in maintaining oral hygiene and those who did not chi square 3.356; 2df; p = 0.001. Poor oral hygiene with high plague and gingival scores was observed amongst children who complained of difficulties in feeding; chi square 15.172; 2df; p = 0.001. Conclusion: Poor oral health status; Orthodontic treatment may also cause functional restrictions, discomfort and pain.
